I'm rebuilding a Motorcraft 2150 from a 1976 302. I'm cleaning it for final assembly and I can't get any compressed air to go through this port. This is the port that the choke pull-off hooks to. It looks like there is a brass restrictor in it but no air will go through. How do you get the brass restrictor out?
I doubt that its designed to be removed as its pressed in from the factory. Is the restrictor plugged or is it the passage behind the restrictor? I would try another good soaking in carb cleaner to try and free up what ever gunk is in there then blast it with compressed air and/or maybe try a jet drill or piece of fine wire to poke in there and try to clear it out.
Update - I was able to get it out with my smallest spiral easy-out. Dime shown for scale. Using a magnifying glass I can see the numbers "1" and "8" stamped on it. But I still can't get any air through it and my smallest torch tip cleaner wire will not go it.
