Shifting Problems
Shifting Problems
Little bout the truck. Bought it with 152,xxx on the clock 3 months ago and since have driven 7k making trios from WV to Fl. The truck "allegedly" is a 95 xlt long bed auto 4.9. Dual fuel tanks. So problems... The truck will shift real funny like. I've tracked and fixed a few things. Rear speed sensor, fuel filter, cap and rotor was supposedly changed by po, tps, air filter,, oil filter,, and have two fuel pumps ready to drop in. This is the problem I'm stumped on. The truck drives like it has a high and low with every gear. The abs light is on. The weird thing, it has a transfer case, no linkage, no halfshaft, and no front diff. 😅 Its start off at a stop and climb through first bout halfway, then jump to like third. Sometimes the abs light will go off and it'll shift perfectly fine, but for the most part it stays on. Give er the beans and it'll go straight to overdrive. Click overdrive off, and it'll climb in 4th. I'm at a loss right now and any help is appreciated.
Step one is to pull codes. Even if you don't have a check engine light, you may still have codes. The procedure is here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...aper-clip.html
