Premature Electrification
I think the ad was hilarious, I have Lightening going into production on 3/27/23 (was 2/27/23). As for range I have no illusions of taking 1000 mile treks in an EV. I have a trip I take monthly of 240 miles and I think that is very doable with the Lightening and there are many charge stations along the way if needed, but I would only need one stop 99% of the time.
When I need to drive cross country, I rent a car because it keeps mileage off my vehicles; if it breaks, they come get it, give me a replacement, and I don't pay for repairs, and I have are very good rental rate with unlimited mileage. I have done this for the last 20 years.

I ordered a Platinum which has all the whistles and bells. So 300 mile range. I live south Florida so pretty much no hills or cold weather.
i negotiated a rental agreement for a major corp years ago so I have lifetime access to exceptional rental rates. I know many can’t do what I do, but even if I paid rack rates the analysis for longer trips and wear and tear on my POV just doesn’t make financial sense.
