like the old bob dylan song.... "now i dont feel soooo alone".... by the way, my 1966 F-250 4x4 stepside is coming together just fine and looking good... give me another year and it will be done... maybe sooner...
God made Women, Ford made Flair sides. For some reason, some people can’t correctly identify either these days. Sad.
i think ill hold on to my latest slick.. bought my first one when i was 15 in 1980, a flatbed.... my second in 83, that was a fleetside and now my 66 a stepside... love them one and all...i also have a 29 roadster, a 95 f350 4x4 utility bed, a 08 sd 4x4 and i use my kids 08 350... my daughter in laws near mint 67 f100 is in my shop to.... but i wouldn't kick a chevy out of my shop either... stepside vs flareside? a rose is still a rose by any other name, and my 66 is a bouquet..

Everyone knows that calendar peddlers are also automotive experts, even going so far as naming vehicles at the behest of manufacturers. You’ll never find it referred to that way in any of Ford’s literature.
This is unproductive, we know better than to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
The man or company that printed that calendar doesn't know crap (insert correct word for crap) from brown gravy or as my grandmother used to say crap from shinola. (insert proper word for crap)

Yes we do but we do it anyway. Guys like those are what helped drive Number Dummy off. Sad thing is they will never have anywhere close to the knowledge he has.
ding, ding, ding....there it is folks..wtx66 wants this "locked and done"... we know what that means...lolol....someone's nose is ... well, we know where...
X2. This thread has nothing to do with helping anyone and was only meant to be provocative.
It could be a healthy discussion of what all the manufacturers called the sides of their boxes. They all had different names. I don't think it should be locked down. But maybe just maybe just maybe the one who started this with the only intention of causing an uproar should receive a time out.
i actually tried to use this forums "correct" terminology, against my better thoughts, in everyday interactions.... a couple of weeks ago i talked to an old guy i know about a 64 f350 flatbed he has behind his filling station.. now this old guy is close to 80 and his father bought it back in 67... i told him flat out i wanted it as a parts truck for my "flareside" im restoring and he looked at me like i grew a second head... i quickly changed it to "stepside" and he smiled and understood exactly what i was talking about..... that was it for me, it is a stepside from now on... im going to pickup that 64 this weekend..
and if being non conformative is being provocative then so be it.... ps. im still searching for a 4 spoke steering wheel...
