In my naive experience I don't understand where/how to utilize the WVE® 1S5388 - Brake Light Switch I have on hand. It doesn't look to me like it works with the brake pedal under the dash where what to me is a normal bake light switch,
and I don't have a clue how else or where else it might be needed/work. Thank you once again for your patience with my 'shade tree mechanic' lack of expertise/experience!
When I looked up your truck on Auto Zone it list 2 different switches.
1 like you posted that fits over the pin that goes thru the pedal & master cly. rod.
The other is a plunger type that the pedal arm pushes on.
Both types of switches are normal on cars and trucks and they one you posted is used mostly today over the other.
I am guessing from what you posted you have a plunger type in the truck.
Just hit a local parts store and pick one up.

The above is a plunger type and the one the poster shown is a mechanical type(fits over the pin). My truck as cruise control, it has both types of stop light switches.
The switch the OP posted is for trucks with factory cruise control. It doesn't work the brake lights. It's function is to disengage the cruise control when you hit the brakes.
The one posted by Rich is the correct one to activate the brake lights.
