Plenum gasket install
Plenum gasket install
94 Ford F150 351W 5.8L V8
I replaced my fuel injectors this morning and am ready to re-install the Plenum. Do I need to coat the gasket with anything prior to the install? Any recommendations with the installation process to ensure a proper seal? All torque specs will be followed. Thanks for any input.

It's perfectly acceptable to install the intake gasket dry. There's no water passages in the plenum so there no risk of water leaks. Installing it dry will allow you to remove it later when needed, with out any cleanup work.
I always use Permatex Hi-Tack spray. It's not for better sealing per se, it's main function is to help hold the gasket in place. Been using it on gaskets since the 70s.
It's especially effective on cork gaskets (to keep them from sliding out under pressure) which, granted, you don't see too often anymore.
