Message Center is a liar

‘22 F350 Lariat Ultimate. This morning I was heading out to the farm shop and 2 messages popped. One was something to do with front camera blocked and the other was front collision sensors blocked. I know I don’t have a front camera but not sure on the front collision. I do not have sensors in my front bumper. Anyone else have bogus alerts? Ever since the 3.5.2 OTA update this truck has done some weird stuff

I had a message the other morning that said the front camera needed to be cleaned or something like that. It was a foggy morning, so I used the front camera washer and the message went away. I’m not sure if it was a legitimate message and I’m not sure if I actually properly initiated the camera washer.

Since you have a camera, I can understand you getting the message but I don’t have a camera and got the message.

Pretty sure the camera used for collision avoidance, pre collision or whatever they call it is housed behind the rear view mirror. Not the camera in the grille, that is used for the front view that comes with the 360 system.

these messages can happen in cold weather where there is snow and ice on the windshield.

I got a "lane keeping assist not available" and "something about pre-collision not available" on a particularly dewy/frosty morning. Once. Wrote it off to cameras and sensors being frosted over. Since these are optical sensors it doesn't take a whole lot of slush to take them of line. Truck warmed up and all was fine.

Don’t feel bad. I didn’t know I had that camera for many months either.
