The console lid has four rubber bumpers mounted to it to keep it from rattling. I lost one of my bumpers. Ford in its infinite wisdom will only sell the bumpers mounted to the lid. I don’t need a new lid. I need a four cent rubber bumper. Has anyone devised a fix for the missing bumper? Home Depot has little rubber feet, and two of them together with some RV exterior clear caulk seem to work, but Super Glue needs to be added to the mix because the pieces keep sliding apart. Wondering if there is a fix, or better replacement option.
Three attempts at manufacturing a homemade bumper failed. Tons of threads out there about the missing bumper and no real fix. One guy provided the file for a 3D printer version, but I don’t know anyone who can print rubber. Nothing really sticks like it should because of the movement of the lid on bumpy roads. Super glue doesn’t hold, RV exterior caulk won’t hold it in place. Until I can find an actual replacement somewhere this works… Its an extra EZPass windshield mount. The adhesive is built for high heat so it ain’t going anywhere anytime soon and the surface area is enough to keep it from sliding around. Solid unobtrusive fix.
