XL upgrades?

Has anyone tried upgrading their XL?

I have a 2008 f250 XL. So roll up windows, no power locks, no ac, nothing…

the power locks are the most annoying…cause it’s hard to reach the passenger side with the console folded down (regular cab).

no ac sucks but it’s sucks worse when it’s not easy to roll down windows.

has anyone tried installing scrap doors from a different model like lariat? Is it possible to wire automatic doors to an XL model?

my seats are in bad shape too but I don’t know if getting higher model seats would even work? Might just put seat covers on them…

A/C had to be special ordered to be excluded

and totally something someone would check prior to purchasing a used vehicle

yes it’s Canadian. I got the truck for a really good price so I decided I didn’t need the AC that bad. I paid $6500 for it in 2018. It had 112k on it.

Its called a fleet truck. Many F250&350 fleet xl's are delivered sans all pwr accessories, cruise, radio. I bought 3 2009's from a fleet of 70, not 1 in the fleet had pwr anything, rubber floors, no mats, most 2wd, 4wd's had manual hubs (auto hubs but no vacuum actuation installed) and floor shift xcase. Not 1 "option" is on a fleet truck to start, If a buyer wants options he orders the trucks and they build them. Your used to getting floor sales models, fleet trucks you buy 3 to 50+ in a whack and get a rock bottom deal.

yup that sounds like my truck 100%
the hubs confused me at first… cause it says auto on the hub and I have a switch on the dash… but I actually have to lock it in. Makes me wonder if I can add the vacuum actuation. Lol

Power door locks should not be an issue.

Seems there are also universal power window kits.

Just as I am sure there are add on A/C kits, but those tend to be more expensive and labor intensive.

It only took me about 3 times of pulling some muscle around my ribs reaching over to unlock the passenger door. Now anyone who rides with me comment on how polite I am when I walk around before getting in and unlock their door.. My XL truck has a/c , am/fm, and cruise, manual windows & hubs. The only upgrading I've done is fog lights and upfitter switches.
