I'm afraid if I had the turnover ball by B&W and left it in all the time, it would get rusted in there, and not come out....like so many of the TT hitches you see sticking out of trucks driving around!
The gooseneck kit is the gooseneck ball and safety hooks that you insert into the gooseneck/5th wheel puck system. I believe all F450s come with the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep, which is the actual hitch that is mounted to the frame under the bed.
My dealer added the 5th Wheel Prep Package (not the Gooseneck Kit) to the invoice price and was going to charge me for it until I showed them it was an included with the F450.
I will add as a point to verify there was a time as early as the 21 model year that the 450's were not standard with fifth wheel prep. I see that mentioned on here often and while it may be the case with the 450's ordered now it doesn't apply to all model years. I ran upon a handful of Platinum and KR 450's that were 21 year models that didn't have the factory fifth wheel prep. This was in December 2020 just before things went bonkers in the truck market and you could actually find trucks sitting on dealer lots.
To save wasted trips I would ask the dealer to send me a photo of the bed so I could see for myself. As you might expect two flat out lied to me and the pics were the tell.

Can confirm this. 2019 and 2020 both are optional. I have a sticker from a 20 that I was checking out, and have the one for my 2019, and they both list 5th wheel prep as a $500 option. Both have the Ultimate Trailer Tow, and NEITHER have the 12 pin in the bed! I don't know when Ford included the 12 pin in the bed with the 5th wheel prep and UTTC option, but it wasn't in either of them. In fact the 7 pin in mine looks like the dealer installed one, not the factory installed on with the flush mount plate. The 20 had more miles and cost $10K more, so opted for the 2019.
