Are these things just bling or do they actually illuminate the road better? The regular headlights on my 2017 are ok but I've certainly had better. I'm looking at going to a 22 and wondering if this option is worth it.
I'd say they are worth it. I think Ford is dropping the ball by making you go Lariat with the premium pack just for the privilege of paying extra for the LEDs....I'm happy with my XLT w. Premium pack in every way except the headlights. It's 2023 and its time for those ligjts to be standard IMO. Going with the morimoto hybrids now 'cause the factory LEDs aren't "plug and play"
There's a fair supply to choose from up here in Alberta. I want a 8ft box and SRW so it limits it some. A few have the LED lights.
Up there Ford allows the LED's on Lariat without the Ultimate package, so even easier to justify the prrice of the LeD option. Down here it requires the $3k Ultimate pkg on a Lariat to get them.
I had them on my ‘19 and have them again on my ‘22. Just got back from the ranch tonight and I absolutely love them. I really liked the ones in my ‘19, but I do feel these in my current ‘22 are even better.
Over $2000 just for some headlights and you still need a harness. I dont see how that is worth it.
I don't think the OP is looking to retrofit the lights, he is looking to buy a 2022 with the LED option, if it's worth it. I don't know what the option price is in Canada, it's about $1100 here and that includes the LED taillights.
I vote yes. Especially if you don’t have to get the lariat ultimate to get them. The only reason I got the ultimate package was for the leds. They are great at night compared to halogen.
I really like the LED lights that I had on my 2017 and my current 2020. Lots better than the Halogens.
I dislike that they don't put off much heat and snow sticks to them
