1993 Ford F150 4x4 with a 5.0 So I am looking at my electrical wiring and this device is found in a few locations. The good one is next to my cruise control module. It appears to be some kind of jumper or cover for something that could have been there in the build but is not. I have one coming off of my main harness right above the drivers side exhaust manifold. It looks like it has been touching that manifold for years. What is this plug and will this condition cause me any troubles or should I just put black tape on it and move on?
I think the top one is a trailer connector for adding a brake controller. The bottom one looks like the PS pressure switch connector that has laid on the exhaust manifold. A lot of trucks had the PS connector but no switch so probably there is nothing to connect that to.

That is the RABS test port. It is used to verify the VSS signal going to the RABS control module. 1992 and later trucks that same VSS signal continues on to the PSOM located behind the instrument cluster.
The top part is a cap for the test port. As noted in the diagram I posted, the wires on the test port tie into the VSS signal. That test port does not plug into anything. You insert meter or oscilloscope leads into the port to test the VSS signal.
