Got home late on Sunday and truck almost died in the driveway but it didn't. Hooked scan tool up to it didn't give me a definitive answer as to what it could be when I rev the truck or press on the accelerator and then let off it surges for like 1 to 3 seconds and then goes back to regular idle like it was before what could this be? I also have a video of what it's doing
what is fuel pressure? cant use scan tool, use tire gauge on fuel bowl schrader valve
when was last fuel filter change?
oil level? once HPOP gets some air it can take 100 miles to remove
IPR tinnerman nut tight? that can make for some weird loping too
CEL light on or any codes stored?
What is IPR% duty cycle and ICP pressure when this happens?
Cel light is on but when I check the codes it doesn't give me a definitive answer as to what it could be. Oil lvl good fuel filter on fuel bowl changed before trip. I need more info on the first thing u said about fuel pressure I'll check the nut on IPR when I get a chance to on the weekend
Could it be the air sensor or the TPS It also could be the IPR but what but what I don't get is why does it go back to regular idle if it was the IPR that's why I'm thinking it's either the air sensor or the TPS maybe
Loping/surging happens when a cylinder does not fire. There are lots of things that can make it happen.
we can guess but testing rules out expensive parts that you dont need
Mine lopes when sitting for more than a week. starts right up after 5 sec after sitting for two months though but lopes
once it warms up some, no more lope.
used to be really bad when i first bought it. Thought it was a dead injector. it was fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, injector orings and my BARO sensor causing it to be really bad.
IPR can stick, its just a small spool valve and a spec of dirt can make it bind. the oring on IPR even when torn can allow it to run to a point with cold thick oil
