My truck came with 'Gold' H-OAT coolant. After 8 years I had it replaced, and the shop used a non-Ford product that was also H-OAT and a similar color. Now I'm thinking of doing it again, and having had no problem at all with the cooling system/coolant after almost 8 years, I plan to stick with the H-OAT. Any comments?
Sticking with HOAT is a good idea per the owners manual .
I've used the motorcraft gold OEM and the Zerix G O5. I have had to replace the oil filter housing assembly 2x due to pitting on the coolant side of the assembly. That is the only coolant related part I have replaced at 290k.
