excessive def usage?

excessive def usage?
2022 f350 towing a 7000 lb trailer on the interstate at around 75 mph
got my 500 mile def warning and 100 miles later I got my in 50 miles I will be limited to 50 mph warning
and 1000 miles later I got the 500 mile def warning?
Preaching to the choir but this Def is a PIA! just plain wrong my 500 mile warning is really 150 miles luckily I had a truck stop nearby.
Surely this can't be normal? my 2018 used significantly less Def than this truck, it was around 7500 miles to tank from my memory.

I do not remember exactly on the amount of def I put in, but it took a fair amount 4-5 gallons is a solid guess.
I always fill at a truck stop, I am in CA so unfortunately that means I typically get b20 biodiesel

I have read somewhere a while back that Ford changed the programming on the '22 to use less EGR, and the tradeoff would be to use more DEF.
If this is true, which it sound like that's what people are experiencing (myself included), then I'll gladly take less soot in my intake system and burn more DEF.
