My 84 BII 2.8L is having power problems that is possibly caused by no timing advancement. The KOEO code is 11. The KOER codes are 12, 25, 41.
The main thing I noticed during the test is the lack of timing advancement. I've set the timing to 10 btdc with the SPOUT disconnected. Once I reconnect the SPOUT there is no movement of the timing or during the timing test.
Any suggestions on what might cause the timing advancement problems?
I'm not sure where to start with the code 12 (Cannot control rpm during Self-Test high RPM check). Any suggestions what the cause of code 12 is?
Could someone tell me what code 25 is? The Haynes manual doesn't have it listed.
Code 12:
Indicates the system is not cabable of raising engine speed above curb idle.
POSSIBLE CAUSES OF CONCERN
ISC motor/ISC solenoid problems.
Wire harness problems.
ECA problems.
Code 25:
Indicates that knock was not sensed during "goose" test.
PORBABLE CAUSES OF CONCERN
Knock sensor problems.
Wire harness problems.
ECA problems.
Code 41:
Indicates the EGO sensor output voltage is always less than 0.5 volts ("lean") during the fuel test.
PROBABLE CAUSES OF CONCERN.
EGO sensor problems.
Wire harness problems.
ECA problems.
I would look for a break in the spout circuit wiring.
I got continuity on the SPOUT wire back to the ECA. I have output from the TFI on the SPOUT so I'm thinking I need a new ECA. However, NAPA and Autozone don't have an exact match for the part number and the Ford man doesn't have them anymore.
