Timing set install question
I'm going to be putting a new timing set (Cloyes C3057X) in my 302 that's out of a '96 Explorer. It's going in my '89 F150. Would the speed density system benefit any from setting the timing 4 degrees advanced or should I just set it at 0? The set has the option to set it at factory timing, retarded, or advanced. Nothing else has been done to the motor except having the heads rebuilt and shorty headers.
Also, how do I know which distributor gear to use, steel or cast? It's a roller block and came with a cam phaser instead of a distributor so I need to get one.
