Got a month-to-month renewal bill, for when my yearly subscription ends, in the mail today, so went online, then got on chat with the agent and did the yearly dance again.
Offered me an upgraded subscription for $5.99 a month plus taxes and fees.
Turned them down, and they offered the upgrade for 3 months free, then would bill me for the balance.
Turned that down, and they didn't make any more offers.
I hardly listen to it when I am in my truck, so just dumped it, will be turned off as of the 25th of next month.
Don't kid yourself they are RUTHLESS. You can probably expect to be solicited several more times before they give up.
I used ForScan to remove the sirius option from the screen altogether. The programming is absolute garbage, there are MUCH better options out there today.
Satellite Radio went the way of cable TV. Same yearly dance, I'd threaten to walk away. Finally I did walk and DirectTV called back a few days later, and I told them we were done for good. Took their stuff to the UPS store to return. Now I have an Amazon Fire stick I seldom use.
When I got the new truck I allowed the SiriusXM to die after the free 3 month deal to which I never listened. The music is for people half my age, the news is depressing and the comedy is vulgar. The "Christian" channels are lame.
While waiting for the truck to arrive my daughter and I moved my entire CD library to a USB stick. I just listen to my own tunes now.
I’m in for $12.12 a month total for 2 subscriptions. I use the app in the straight trucks I drive at my part time job because the radios suck or don’t operate at all. I listen to the radios in my F 350 and my Lincoln LS beater.
Because I’m eligible for the app with each radio plan, I just put the app on my wife’s phone. Now that the satellite radio trial has ended for her new car she can still stream it in the car. And there are more channels on the app.
In the end its just an individual thing. If you negotiate a deal you can live with and there’s programming that you like, cool. If not then you move on to whatever makes you happy.
I still have it. Stream in the garage from Alexa. Way better than OTA radio with its 2 songs and 20 commercials. A lot of the places I go have zero cell service, so streaming from the phone doesn't work. It's only $6/mo

Pandora is $5/mo and that subscription includes offline streaming. The offline mode isn't perfect but I live in the boonies and hit a lot of no-service areas.

I have been a Pandora subscriber for years and also use Apple music to store playlists for offline. I find the sirius programming to be awful, they are always sneaking in terrible songs with decent ones. I need at least three presets so I have a go to when the playlist goes bad. I find Pandora to offer vastly better mixes on stations you configure and I do not have to change stations if a bad song comes up because I can skip it. If I really do not like it I can "thumbs down" and I don't hear it again. "Thumbs up" prioritizes a song and sends it to an all thumbs up playlist.
I dunno, but I think sirius is from the stone age... I never have issues with music in the truck and I am out of cell range quite a bit.
I can't see how they're still in business, their channels suck, and like others have posted there are hundreds of other FREE alternatives to use as well.
When cell service sucks for 40 miles out of a 60 mile drive, and radio stations play crap that doesn't even have a single bit of country in it that they are trying to pass as country, Sirius comes in real handy. I can only listen to what I have on my USB stick for so long before I get bored of it. Whatever algorithm is used to shuffle the songs, doesn't work very well and I wind up hearing the same songs every day. There are 1200 songs to choose from too. I tend to visit ******* Roadhouse at least once every other week to hear the good ol songs.
I used to renew at $59 for the year. I finally dumped it for me and the Mrs. The renewal process was so dreaded... I was using Amazon prime music until they started de-featuring that up about 2 months ago. (Pushing you into an additional fee beyond Prime membership).
Live sports, news, and music wherever I am in the country. I travel a lot without service in the backcountry. Saying "I just use my phone" is not a fair comparison of the level of service. Been a subscriber for 15+ years and couldn't do without with how I use my truck.
