GP Relay and Starter Clicking Batteries Full
I know I need to still do my due diligence but.. if anyone can give me some direction it would be much appreciated!
When I partially turn my key the gp relay clicks rapidly and when I fully turn my key the starter rapidly clicks. I'm thinking my glow plugs are fine and not the cause because both the starter and gp relay are clicking rapidly (also they are motorcraft and only two years old). Both batteries are at 12.6v so I'm guessing this means that I have a bad ground somewhere? I've checked most of my grounds, just a few more to check but just want to know what else could cause a similar issue??
One test you can do, remove the wires off the Glow plugs.
Use a test Light, connect the end to the positive (12V) on the Battery.
Touch the pokie end on the tip of each GP. If good the light should come on.
This test tells you if the GP works.
Light does not come on, bad plug.
There is another test using a Digital Volt meter (DVM) to check the OHM`s.
Don`t remember what it suppose to be.
If you do need to replace them, be sure to use Motorcraft Plugs, not some
other cheaper off brands.
The Starter clicking should not have any thing to do with the GP`s.
Could be a bad ground some where. Check your battery Cables,
corosion can go up inside the cable covering, old cracked cables
from one end to the other letting in salt etc...
I had to replace the original cables on my 86 F-250 as the cable
covering all along the whole thing.
I didn`t notice if for a long time till one day,
I noticed it.Starter clicking could also be your Starter Solenoid.

tjc: They batteries are pretty new. I measured volts across the starter and it was 12.6v. I am thinking this has something to do with the switch?
GP dont warm, dash flickers and no crank
Remove battery terminals and scrape them good and the posts too
Lead corrosion is clear. You cant see it.
Starts right up after.
