My son just bought a new CRV. It was build and shipped in August, just received it last week. I hope you have better luck.
I hope so too. A Corolla is for young people with loose joints. When I lower myself to climb in I either hit my head or bang my knee on the steering column. Getting out is another matter. I have to either push off with my left elbow against the door or pull myself up with my right a on the open door.
I haven't been out in the world in almost a week. My wife and I both came down with Covid on Xmas eve and we've been isolated. I'm not doing bad, although cleaning up dog poop in the yard almost killed me, my wife is suffering more.
But talk about bored? I'm going crazy here, someone tell me what life is like outside please!
Outside? You haven't missed much this past week. Cold, snow, ice, freezing rain, wind, more wind, thawing, flooding, more rain and ice, more snow on the way. Get well soon.
Now get this! I am "buying" a 2023 pick-up truck. This is a big big deal for me. I bought a new vehicle only once. That was back in 1984. Since I sold my CR-V and am selling my F350, I will use this new truck as a truck and a daily driver. It will arrive the 2nd week of January. That was my excitement this winters day.
Well, now that you mention it, I have decided to sell my '65 F250. It's currently my only "old" truck and it's too difficult for me to work on it. I'm also selling my Harley, since I just don't ride it any more. An old friend once said, "Getting old isn't for sissies." We're getting.... wait for it... a Honda Ridgeline. So you'll be seeing even less of me on FTE. But I'm not saying goodbye yet.
Joe, Bummer you are selling your 65, but I understand the reasoning. Can you consider a Honda Ridgeline a truck?
Abe, I dreamed last night that you sold your truck. You actually drove it somewhere near me and took $14,000. Oddly specific although I don't know whose driveway we were in, but the guy brought a rollback to take it home.
That was a long drive for you to bring the truck, your wife followed along in her car to take you back home.

It's probably more like a car with a small bed and which will tow 5,000 pounds, has a fantastic ride, AWD and tons of storage space in the cab and a locking trunk in the bed. But it will serve my needs for a 4 door truck / AWD vehicle that fits in my garage. And after checking out all the other mid-sized trucks, it's what I want.
The Title of this thread is Boring FTE Day, I have had 31 of them in a row since having my right shoulder replaced. I know what boring is. Been binge watching almost any show I can find. I have been through all the shows on motor trend channel. I did get out and start the 49 two times. On the truck I would order what you want so you will be happy.
Lol, I can send you guys some small projects in the mail if you are bored. My wife says im going to have to live till im 130 years old to get all mine done. I made a list for 2023 its ridiculous. Never enough time or money to support this hobby, so just keep swingin for the fence. Best of luck to all of you in the new year. Cheers!

Hey, Tracey. Hang in there.
It will get better real quick. I had my shoulder replaced Feb 4 2020. My wife ordered Fox Nation for me to watch. I found a channel called American Heroes Channel on my cable TV. It's like the History Channel used to be.
Have you started going to rehab? That really helped. It was my left shoulder so I could drive my automatic CR-V. But couldn't drive my truck. So I had a buddy take me for a drive in my truck. By April I was mowing my little yard and by May I could lift my push mower onto the back of my truck and mow my clients yards.
Not yet Abe, I go back to the dr Jan 3rd. I hate wearing this dang sling too all the time. Here is mine. That dark spot between the two steel area's has the plastic in it. Hard to see but it's dark
Yes, Reverse Style.. My old ball was worn out with several flat areas on it. The cup was also worn out. Arthritis was eating it away. I am ate up with it and can't take anything for it.
Haven't spent a lot of time on the 55 this past week. I haven't been bored though with lots of time with family for the holidays which has been great, but also, it seems every time I even think about working on it or have a free moment to work on it, we get more snow or more wind with more snow which I'm then spending my time outside clearing snow.
I don't normally complain about the weather but this winter has been brutal so far. Our normal average snowfall from Nov through Dec is 8-10" and this year we've had 26" already with another big storm (8-12") with 50+ mph winds Mon/Tuesday this week. I spent yesterday outside taking the snow piles along the drive way on both sides and breaking them down and blowing them deeper into the yard so I have more room for the additional snow this year..
I cannot recall the last winter where I've gone through more than one 5-gallon can of gas for the snow blowers and this year I'm on my 3rd. It has been already and is going to continue to be a long winter. We needed the moisture so I'm Thankful for that but spring is going to be a wet sloppy mess around here.
Hoping since it's going to be crappy Monday / Tuesday outside with this pending storm and there isn't much I can do with snow until the storm passes to get the kick panels finished / installed on the 55 and then start prepping the doors (install weather stripping, hinges installed in the pillar, latch / strikers installed, etc.) so I can get the doors installed soon and move on to the door inners.
