Sorry, should have specified the set has three input. One for each function so I would need to know all three
For the door assist, you may want to check for a connector under the sill plate. Limiteds have lighted sill plates and Platinums have the connector because previous year Platinums had them. Can't say for lower trims but maybe. If the connector isn't there, poke around with a test light. You might find the other wires you need there as well.
I would go all the way back to the trailer plug.I've had customers that wires in their back up lights (for plowing) into the tail light (BU circuit) and the computer shut them down because it drew too many amps. The trailer circuit is not as sensitive to load as the main lighting circuits are. There is no dome light back there but I think all Fords turn on the parking lights when the power locks are unlocked or the door is open. The parking light circuit should get you almost the same results as dome light circuit. Check your vehicle to make sure that in correct.
Hi all, the wife got me some running board strip lights for Christmas. Where is the best spots for me to tap into the following:
1. Dome light
2. Running lights
3. Turn signal
Thanks in advance.
What year is your truck, and what trim level? My truck is a 2020 Lariat, and it had the plug for power running boards, and I don’t have power running boards. If you have the plug, it will be under the rocker panel about halfway between the rear door, on a crew cab. Then you will need to buy the plug that fits and put it on your wires.
Here is a thread for my running board lights that describes how I found the wire from my bed cargo light to power the running board lights, might be able to use same wire for your 'door assist'.

For running and turn signal, I think this might be the quickest option for me, thanks!

I saw that on the Coltsway video on youtube and I do have the vacant plug so I can tap into that for dome power. Thanks!
Just to share with the rest of the class, the connector required is a metra 72-5600.
