I am looking for a honest, good shop to take my truck to. I have two major issues.
Blowing fuse 24 underneath the hood, with new diesel pump.
Long Crank issue take two good long cranks, then engine surge on start up (could this be a short?) no clue. I and a Ford scan tool and a AE on my laptop. Just lacking the knowledge to where to start.
I have noticed oil in valley but no drip? replaced ICP, IPR, HPOP, new injectors, Turbo,
I have a with good oil drip
Currently at my uncles bodyshop. If you know a guy please let me know.
Fuse 24 is PCM power. Not sure if it's before or after the relay but either way it's a short run and finding the short causing the fuse to pop shouldn't be to bad.
I had a look at the colored wiring diagram from the tech section and it shows pins 71 and 91 of the PCM connector are the power inputs and they are both fed from, it's says fuse 22, but since the 02 fuse panel is different I can't say for certain that it would match to your 01. The 85 pin of the relay connects to the PCM diode and the 86 pin to the ignition switch.
I see you are in Houston. Depending on what side of town there is a guy in SantaFe I highly recommend. Bubba's auto repair, he is the no BS ford diesel guy in our area. Bubba Pyle 832 580-4035. He moved his shop a little while back so i'm not sure if this number is still good but a quick google search will pull him up.
Wanted to post back and thank everyone for the effort. cost me a little bit of money but the problem solved it self, WTF not sure what happened. I have other issues will post later not sure if its all related thanks all
If the truck is currently at a body shop, review every inch of the way, the work that you had done there. Did they pull a front fender? Pinched wires anywhere?
