Hey All, First off- a Happy and Safe Holidays to everyone. I got into my truck, (2020 F350 Platinum 6.7) this morning, took a short drive. When I returned and was backing into my garage when I discovered that the Passenger side mirror would not adjust much at all. ( I had done some movement of crap stored in the garage so I need to adjust the mirrors down to be sure no obstacles were in the way). Then tried the drivers side. It had more range, but it was jittery. It has been cold and rainy lately with low temps in the mid 20 degree range. However the last couple days it never got below 43 degrees. I know, that’s considered summer to a lot of you. Anyway, that ruled out frozen water, especially since the inside temp of the garage does not get below 55 degrees. I saw a couple videos on removing the upper mirror glass, but have not found anything specific to the directional drive motor and any sort of maintenance. I did manually manipulate the mirror glass in all possible directions, thinking that they just don’t get exercised enough. They were both still but still a bit stiff. So before dig into removing the upper glass- I did watch a couple of videos on this process, I was wondering if anyone knows of any motor maintenance procedures on what I think is the problem- that dust and grit in the movement of the mirror is causing the binding. I saw one video which indicated the motor case is glued together. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what did you do to resolve issue?
