Get torque pro it will tell you your fuel rail pressure . We have no idea what your problem is or your codes showing . I realize this must be new to you and it takes awhile to adjust to posting . we all have to learn .
A "Crank but does not fire" symptom can be caused by number of things, usually related to either no fuel or no spark or no compression.
Try shooting some starter or brake cleaner fluid into the intake while cranking and see if it fires on that. If it does, you have a fuel delivery issue. If it does not fire on the fluid, you are likely missing your spark or compression.
Timing can be the problem , it can jump . If that happens you will not get the fuel and spark at the right time. A failed crank sensor can also do it . If it has jumped it means a timing job , quite a bit of work . Most of us have done a timing job ourselves so help is here .
I tried the starting fluid yesterday, no start, could it be the PCM? the service engine light has not come on.. the truck was not used for a couple of weeks, so now its a crank no start situation.. thanks for your input
As noted previously, it could be a lot of things. You have to narrow it down logically before jumping to any premature conclusions.
1. A) Does the check engine light come on when the key is turned from OFF to RUN (not START)?
B) If yes, does it go out while cranking?
2. Does the odometer read mileage normally when the key is turned from OFF to RUN (not START)?
3. When cranking, does the tachometer, if equipped, register anything or does it stay flat-lined?
the engine symbol comes on when i turn the key and stays on while cranking, OD reads normal, Tach does not move, but i noticed my oil pressure gauge went to halfway while i was cranking and when i turned the key off their was a rattling coming from the dash for a couple of seconds and the speedometer was twitching?
the truck is now running, it was the crankshaft sensor, I must have watched 15 video's for a "crank no start" not a one mentioned that sensor, thank you so much for your input, you saved me a lot of money, I really appreciated your help!!!
