Diode dynamics LED headlights update
Bought a pair of diode dynamics low beam led headlights 3.5 years ago for my 2015 F150 for $200 bucks and do not recommend them.
I went with them since they were a sponsor of this website and drank their coolaid on quality. Not so much. I had my first bulb failure about 1-2 year in and they swapped it out. PITA to swap bulbs on these trucks but oh well, probably a 1 off and i’ll be good. Nope, that same bulb i swapped out went dim on me like the last one 2 years later and now they won’t swap it out.
i would think these bulbs should last longer for that amount of money and they would back their warranty of 3 years on a replacement that’s less than 3 years old, pretty disappointed.
If anyone wants to recommend a different manufacturer or reliable LED bulbs i would appreciate it.

This company tests every bulb they sell. Most of the products for our truck will have a video on it. This is likely the company I'll go with.

This is what we went with as well. I agree that changing a bulb should not be such a PITA operation, but hopefully I only need to do it once. The LED bulbs we got are a very close reproduction to the filament-based halogens, but only consume ~~ 15 watts. They are far brighter and whiter than halogens, and IMO the beam they cast is tighter, with a very distinct cut-off line.

There is a different procedure you can try to get at the bulbs from inside the fender. My hands are too large, and I found that procedure to be even worse than just doing an R&R on the whole headlight assembly.

Diode Dynamics ended up doing what i think is the right thing and are shipping me a new bulb.
I have liked the product, just not the 2 failures.

Thanks. Right now the indication appears to be less than stellar manufactured bulbs. So let's see what the next ones do.

Overall, it's important to consider the 2015-2020 F-150 has countless reports of LED bulbs prematurely failing from all major lighting manufacturers.
This is an ongoing issue that has been reported to Ford for quite some time now!
