Decided to salvage the motor and transmission

They were already removed before I took the pictures

No beer was spilled while producing these images, and no blood was lost while removing the engine and transmission. The chain was hooked to the tractor bucket which was more than capable to lift the vehicle of the ground. No engine lift required.
That said, don’t try this at home kids. 🫣🫣

You do what you have to do with with available resources.

I've pulled engines with a cherry picker on plywood in a muddy parking lot.

Now hold on. I think that would pass OSHA specs, as long as the rear wheels are choked. He's using the new and improved safety stumps with a downward angle toward the front of the vehicle.

But it looks like one is cedar and the other pine. I'm not sure what OSHA would say about mixing species like that.

That was just after they moved it back out in the yard. They actually took the engine and transmission out in the garage.

This was my latest sacrifice to the Ford gods. When I fist offer it up it was pretty sore and a lot of blood.

Looks a lot better in this picture than it did a week or two later when the nail started coming off in pieces.

Lost about 3/4 of the nail, finally getting close to being back to normal.

Hmmm the ladders are good for 300 lbs each but the bricks on the right are set on their side and might be the weak link. I might double up the 2x8 on the top as well.
Oh, and the two stumps are both cedar, the oak ones were too heavy to drag over.

Ouch, that looks painful. It was around freezing so all work was completed with gloves on. Who needs a nice warm shop……
