That’s a good idea & nice job making the holder. Why do you remove your gooseneck ball? Do you have other trailer ***** or other attachments you put in the hitch? How did you make the holder? It’s difficult to tell what material that is, is that wood?
I know what the B&W goose ball costs. I would be most concerned that some jackweed would just reach in and grab it and walk away.
At least if it is the socket in the center of the bed they have to get in the bed to lift it out.
I have a Roll-n-Lock cover so, hopefully, it keeps folks with big eyes out. Same goes for a small tool box I keep in the bed. I don't worry much about dirt and dust because the cover is usually closed unless towing, then the ball is in it's intended place.
I made it out of some scrap wood I had laying around. I only have one 5th wheel I tow so when it is going to be a while before we travel and I need the bed space for whatever I now have a place to put the ball without much trouble. Usually it is in the puck but once I need the space I take it out until I tow again.
My gooseball and safety chain loops live in a storage compartment on the trailer. I've only got one trailer that needs them so that works well for me.
I don't like the B&W blow molded case either. It's around here somewhere but I'd have to hunt to find it.
