1965 C600 Decode
Find your data plate--on the driver door below the latch, possibly the glove box, possibly the door jamb--not sure of the location for your vehicle.
From that, post the codes, especially the axle codes. The axle code gives the clue to the brakes.
A full decode deserves it's own thread so I've made you one.
C60 = C600 gas
M = 330 2V HD FT gas V8
U = Louisville Assembly Plant
686660 = 1965 numerical series, May 1965 production
099 = 99 inch wheelbase
- = Should be color code, possibly a typo
C600 = C600 gas, 20,000 lbs GVWR
191A = 1 = Light Gray Crush Vinyl & Light Gray Block Weave Vinyl / 91A Standard Cab
A = New Process model 435 four speed transmission
62 = Rockwell(Timken) model F-106 single speed rear axle, 6.20 ratio, 15,000 lbs capacity
No front axle code. In '64-'69 only optional axles were listed. Thus, you have a Ford standard axle, probably 5,000 lbs capacity without power steering
20000 = 20,000 lbs GVWR
160 3800 = 160 certified net HP @ 3800 RPM
33 = Detroit District Sales Office. No special order number so the truck was probably "bought off the lot" from dealer inventory.
