Welcome to FTE!
Post moved into your own thread.

F60 = F600 gas 4x2

D = 330 2V HD gas FT V8.

E = Malwah Assembly Plant

861868 = 1966 Numerical series

156 = 156 inch wheelbase, if I read that right

No color code, note special order.

F600 = F600 17,000lbs GVWR

B81 = Body, uphostery, cab type. I don't have that info

O = New Process model 541 five speed direct transmission

G2 = Eaton model 16802 Two Speed Rear Axle 5.57/7.75 ratios, 17,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity
No front axle code. '64 to '69 only optional axles were listed. Thus you probably have a Ford 5,000lb capacity axle without power steering

17000? = 17,000lbs GVWR if that's what it says.

164 3800 = 164 Certified Net HP @3800 RPM

153529
15 = Newark District Code
3529 = Special Order Number

Let me know if something doesn't look right.

A little odd, a nice 5 speed/two speed axle combo, but low GVWR. And a special order to boot.

Quick question, I just purchased what I believe to be a 1966 also. Can someone help me with decoding the VIN plate also?

Mainly want to confirm that it is a 66 model, the engine (I believe to be a 330 Medium Duty), trans code, axle ratio(s), and original color.

Any other help would be awesome. My dad and I are turning this into our next project.

F60 = F600 gas 4x2

C = 330 2V MD gas FT V8, this is the one with the cast 352/360 crank & smaller distributor drive.

E = Mahwah Assembly Plant

834094 = 1966 Numerical Series

156 = 156 inch wheelbase

W = Medium Blue

F600 = F600 17,000lbs GVWR

481: 4 = Medium Beige Crush Vinyl & Medium Beige Wicker Pattern Vinyl // 81 = 81A Standard Cab.*

A = New Process model 435 four speed transmission

F8 = Eaton model 13802 Two Speed Rear Axle // 6.33/8.81 // 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.*

No front axle codes. '64 to '69 only optional axle codes appeared. The standard Ford axle is probably 5.000lbs capacity without power steering

17000 = 17.000lbs GVWR

164 3800 = 164 Certified Net HP @ 3800 RPM

22 = Charlotte District Code

* This info is courtesy of Numberdummy from a prior 1966 decode. Thanks Bill!!

Beware widowmaker wheels on your truck. Several threads here, and several linked in the tech section at the top of the forum in the Tech folder--post 12 I think.

Two speed axle: If you are unfamiliar, again there is a link to Eaton videos in the tech folder up top here.

Good luck with your truck!

thank you very much for the info! I’m fixing to check out the info on the wheels now. I’ve heard about the dangers they can present.

Thanks again!
