IWE Issues - any ideas?

I have a 2010 Lariat SCREW with the 5.4l. Several years ago I put a levelling kit on and started getting the grinding noise when turning and going over some sort of uneven road. I always thought it was the tires rubbing because I run the 305/65/R18 that I put on with the levelling kit. The grinding was never too bad and only happened during these types of turns. Fast forward in life to where I am now commuting over a mountain pass. Twisting and winding road and my truck grinds during these turns. Mostly when turning left. So I replaced everything...and I mean everything! I installed the Fox levelling struts and shocks. Both IWEs, the vacuum line assembly and both the vacuum solenoid and check valve. I did not replace the reservoir but not sure how that could break. I still get the grinding noise! So I unplug the vacuum solenoid and give it a try, yup - still grinds! So I put the truck in 4H and drive the the twisting road and it still grinds!
Any ideas on what is causing this?
Why would it grind in 4WD?
Why would it grind when disconnected?
I have seen something like an IWE eliminator kit but I'm not sure that would fix the problem.
I have owned this truck since 2011 and this only started when I put the levelling kit with the bigger tires.
Any help is appreciated.

There’s no chance that your pinching the vac line when turning? Any drop in vacuum will cause the iwe to try and engage. When installing your levelling kit did you reroute anything?

Thanks for the reply. I routed the vacuum lines to the same factory mounts. I have also thought about the possibility of pinching the lines but I cannot find any smoking guns when I look. Nothing has been re-routed. Maybe one of the IWE modules is bad? I used Ford parts for everything. Maybe vacuum pump/gauge broke on me so I haven't checked it. Another thought that maybe something like loose in the suspension but I have had all of that checked and still no smoking gun. Just weird! I am thinking of just buying that IWE eliminator kit and hope (hope is a horrible plan) that it resolves the problem.

If you had a vac pump you could pull a vacuum on the iwes individually and made sure they held. Then connect the lines and pull a vacuum at your solenoid connection to test the lines too.

Where is your vacuum reservoir? My 09 is by the battery, and there is a steel line (ac?) that rubbed against the bottom and marked it up pretty good. I put some tape on it, and then some loom over the line. I doubt your reservoir is damaged tho, something is upset by being levelled.

If you are able to vac test everything, it might be cheaper than the iwe delete

So I replaced my IWE system with the RCV IWE eliminator kit. AND IT STILL GRINDS!!! But not as much as it used to and maybe only when turning left on a winding mountain road. So my question is - Do you think the ball joints could be the problem? Allowing a slight tilt while making a turn maybe? I'm at a loss here!

I don’t think so, if the ball joints are loose enough to cause that then you would have other problems because of them I would think.

How did the teeth on the cv axle look? Is it possible they are chewed up and not smoothly engaging? I’m not familiar with the iwe eliminator kit

Everything seems to appear to be in good condition. There is a little chafing but nothing really chewed up. Maybe the wheel bearing? Nothing seems to move too much when I look at everything when someone is turning the wheel back and forth. The wheel doesn't move up or down/side to side when trying to move it when it is lifted off the ground. I'm just really stumped at what it causing this.

In the other post you mentioned grinding when turning left, iirc grinding when turning is a symptom of a wheel bearing going out.

I looked at that kit online, if your front end is always locked in, I’m not sure what else there is to grind. When I turn in 4by, there is kind of a rubbing noise of everything getting tight; that’s normal. It’s definitely not a grind tho. But when shifting in/out there isn’t any grinding.
