Hi, all. Yesterday I was bringing my daughter home from school, and I thought I heard a siren, so I did what I always do: I rolled the front windows down about 6". After we located the source of the siren (a fire engine going thataway), I rolled the windows back up, and my driver's side window went POP. Then it slowly fell into the door.
So, I'm guessing this means the window regulator died. From the looks of it, it might be a fairly simple repair:
Question is: Can I get 3rd party window regulator from my favorite auto parts store, or do I really need to go to the dealership to get one? I know that Fords can be super picky about the parts that are installed, but I wonder if it matters for a window regulator. I really want to do this job only once.
