AIM Drop Beams - Installation Problems
According to AIM, I needed to get spindles from a 1982 to 1986 truck to fit these axles, so I got some from a 1982 F150.
The problem is that the spindles do not install correctly and I can not figure out what the problem is.
(1) Bottom Ball Joint will not seat up.
With nut run up as tight as it can go, Taper in Spindle does not completely engage Taper of Ball Joint. When turning spindle, it rotates on Ball Joint instead of Ball Joint rotating. I tried to put washers between nut and spindle thinking that the nut may be bottomed out, but that did not help either. This condition exists on both axles
(2) The Eccentric Bushing pushes out of spindle & the Nut ends up above Cotter Pin Hole.
I posted several photos in my gallery as follows.

Things I have tried so far.
(1) Different Installation sequences.
(a) 1st tightened upper ball joint then tightened lower ball joint
(b) 1st tightened lower ball joint then tightened upper ball joint
(c) Put washers under both upper and lower ball joint nuts
(d) Tried new eccentric bushings
(2) Went to O'Riellys and had them pull a new upper ball joint. As close as I can measure it looks like the same ball joint that came with the axles.
(3) Verified that problem exists on both axles.
Does anyone have any advise for me?
