Ordered a F350 King Ranch in December of 2021 and was ordered using the X plan. Fast forward to a year later. I got an email stating the truck was shipped and should arrive next week. Went by the dealer today to see what the X plan price would be and was informed that X plan didn't exist any more and sticker price would be the price. Does anyone know about X plan being discontinued or did the dealer find a way to get a truck they couldn't get allocated any other way?
I generated a PIN and ordered a MY23 ON 10/28/22 using x plan.. sounds like one of those slimey dealer tactics to get you to walk.
I agree with you on that. I went in this afternoon to Fords website and it allowed me to generate another pin as well. I think I will make a call to Ford Monday and ask the question, then let them know of a dealer that has a new way to get trucks when they have no allocation left
A Ford dealer is not required to participate in the X-Plan program.
So, maybe they meant that X-Plan was no longer being accepted by them.
This is why I did all my communications with the dealer by email, so I would have it spelled out in writing that they were taking X-Plan on my order.

This is true, not all dealers participate in the X plan program..But this dealer did when the truck was ordered
EXACTLY!!!
If you didn't get it in writing, then they can say it didn't happen.
It is written on the bottom of the order form, but the way it was written leaves them the out and I didn't catch it till tonight when I was looking at it. It states X Plan "if approved". I took that to mean once I provide my PIN and verification that I was eligible. Now after the fact I am think it probably means if they decide they want to accept it.

My dealer as stopped doing x-plan starting 2023. I won't get my 2022 order that included x-plan and they have agreed to offer it to me on my 2023 order. Pretty pumped that they are stepping up. I wish FORD had stepped up for those of us that didn't get our orders.

Well then the active valid X PIN # you gave them and they recieved “approved” it. Had he not taken that from you he would have an out. He took it and noted that. Game over. Anything else is really deceptive and worthy of a fight.
I would go in unannounced person and take the tact that they just misunderstand and it was approved already to give them an out of agreeing it was misunderstood. That may actually be the case. If they balk, it would be game on for me. You dont take copies of the X pin number and note it to verify its valid and then balk.
Saved me $3k on my 23 250 Lariat Ultimate. Again, Just go in unannounced and calm, sit down with him with copies of everything looking very organized..be firm but polite..and be glad to be a huge ***** if they dont call it a misunderstanding and agree to take it. I wouldn't talk on the phone and let him get a story together with the manager. Catch him off guard a little.
Id guess the sales guy is just trying to max his own cut on your truck after the fact but the management will likely override him to save rep for the dealer if you make a big stink and show them the note. Go over his head if you have to. If that doesn't work call Ford and show them the copy where they acknowledged getting a X pin upon ordering.
As many have mentioned, it's the dealer's option on whether to accept X Plan. If they told you it was good when you ordered and then reneged, shame on them.
What I haven't seen mentioned is that Ford discontinued X Plan eligibility for stockholders. Now you have to join the Mustang Club of America or other organization that offers it or find another way to get in.
I bought a couple of X Plan trucks due to owning 100 or more shares of Ford. But that has gone away.
most suspended the x plan because market conditions put them in the drivers seat.
Once the lots are full again, most will actually be looking to make a sale.
I was fortunate to get it when I ordered my 2022 in October 2021. When I went to pick the truck up the sales manager told me that they really weren't accepting X Plan at the time but did it for me because the dealership owner is a personal friend and called from 60 miles away and told them to give it to me. So just dumb luck for me on that one.
I guess now if I ever order another truck I'll have to make sure to renew the Mustang Club membership far enough in advance for X Plan since the stockholder option is off the table.
After the last 2 years I wonder if lots will ever be full again?
