He also put my X Plan proof/info into my order folder that they file. I informed him my pin will most likely be expired by the time the truck gets delivered and he said it wouldn't be an issue, but I will pay for another pin before delivery in case they refuse the expired one at time of delivery. I am going to go ahead and plan for shenanigans at time of delivery but hopefully they honor what they told/texted me.

I must say he is the most grouchy sales rep I've ever dealt with in any field in my life (he's mid 50s in age), he just doesn't seem to like people at all, he literally shoos them out of the dealer and doesn't like customers talking to parts, service, or anyone else even though the customer is actively spending money in those departments, this is after they have finished talking to him. Another sales rep told me "that is just how he is." I wouldn't be surprised if he is gone by the time it gets delivered. I try to be a good/easy customer as I've worked sales, but that guy makes me feel very unwelcome and acts like people literally aren't allowed inside the dealership.

Anyone else dealt with a sales rep like this?
I simply wouldn’t deal with someone like that. Ask to work with a different rep and state your reason why.

It was just luck of the draw you ended up with him most dealerships work on a up system meaning they take turns greeting the next customer that walks in. Or if done online you just happened to have him start replying to you.

Ask to work with someone else. Simple.

Like others said, they're trying to get you to walk eventhough they said they would accept it. Accepting any discount plans (AXDZ) is at the discretion by the dealer. It is not a requirement by Ford to force them to offer those plans. Either accept the price or move on to another dealer. Before you order from your next dealer, make sure you ask if they accept any plan discounts right off the bat so that way you're not wasting any time. If they don't then go to the next dealer. It is nothing personal. It is business. They have to make money when they can especially when inventories across the country are very low. Good luck complaining to Ford about the dealer not accepting it because it will not do any good. I very recently ordered a 23 F350 Lariat on my Dad's Z plan from my dealer. I've bought from for 5 or so years, and this will be my 5th truck I have bought from them. I asked them right off the bat if they accepted them and they did so I put in an order. Good luck to you!!

They accepted the plan PIN from Dad understanding it is a plan pricing order. Same for Fly.

Now.... If they then dont honor it when its built months from now... and they advertise Dad's special ordered truck over list before you even walk away....thats ok ?

Dont bother with calling Ford if they now say they wont accept it? Id go down fighting that battle win or lose. I dont get your advise but we are all different.

I agree. My line in the sand would be for them to simply honor what they communicated, that is not a tall ask, you are just asking someone to honor what they told/wrote you...often times to get you into the dealership's door. If I get push-back at delivery I plan to show them my sales guy's text messages to me and ask them to simply execute what he stated would happen.

So, maybe they meant that X-Plan was no longer being accepted by them.
This is why I did all my communications with the dealer by email, so I would have it spelled out in writing that they were taking X-Plan on my order.
yep and its not just trucks
the last month i have been shopping for a 2022 edge titanium with elite package....
i have called at least 2 dozen dealers when i do find one in color and options. so far only one honored or participates in x plan program on vehicles right now
he may get our business, but its a long drive
its optional and IMO some are just plain greedy and know if you choose to not buy, they will sell it to a person at the higher price easy enough .
its hard around here to find trucks or cars that are not off the charts over priced above msrp.
my old dealer has a 22 lighting platinum...lists it at 124k....thats insane

I know for certain I Will remember which dealers around me that had huge BS markups and which ones were more reasonable.

times will be changing and when they are all begging for business, I would only go to the ones who didn’t try and screw people over when it was easy for them to do so.

Yup! Treat me right and I may buy parts from their Parts Dept...if not then I can get them online at a slightly lower price.

I said that because if you ask them if they accept it before you order a truck and they say no, then you walk and you go to the next desler. I was saying don't complain to Ford about not accepting it because they don't have to. You didn't order a truck or any other vehicle so why does it matter.

Now you have a good point, if they say they accept it before you order and you put in an order and months go by and they can renege and say they can't accept it, then you can make a complaint if you have it in writing. If it is not in writing then its their word against yours and they can say, we never told you that. They will hope that you would say no if there is a price hike and you would walk and they can name their price on your ordered truck and they would get it all day long, especially on being a refreshed model.

If they told me that they can't accept my plan or give me another tactic to raise the price, I would be ok with walking. I don't desperately need a truck. My 19 is like new and only has 21k original miles on it so I could careless.

Thanks for all the replies and the discussion. I have learned a lot out of this whole process. The unicorn truck arrived at the dealer day before yesterday and went by the dealership to see where they were at. You know if they hadn't already offered x plan they made a decent off for this day and age and shot me a price of 1000 below sticker. I smiled told them to hold onto my deposit and I would get back to them. Spent the day yesterday and part of the day today and found if you get lucky enough to catch the right person on the phone there is help there to some degree. I had a private offer that had expired in April and from everything I could find it was just gone. I mentioned it to a lady in X plan customer service and it took her about 5 minutes to get me transferred to someone in marketing, and after another 5 minutes of explaining the story to her I had a new code for another $2000.
Went back to the dealer tonight and took all my original paperwork with me that showed where it was written X plan if approved, and the sales manager stood his ground on the $1000 below sticker. Like I stated in an earlier post I am ******* at heart so asked to speak to the GM. Reply was he was out and wouldn't be back for an hour or so. No problem, I will sit over here in your lounge and drink your coffee while I wait, and oh by the way your pot is empty do you think you can make another one. I finally got to the GM about 15 minutes later and he already knew a rough idea of why I was there but still didn't seem to know my side. Showed him my copy of the original order form that stated X-Plan if approved, pull out a screen shot of my active Approved PINs and he pulled out the invoice that showed sticker, as well as all the various prices for the plans. And threw a price at me at X-Plan + $1000. Still not what I was looking for but a whole lot closer and it would work and I would take the truck but from a customer standpoint it sure appeared that truck was custom ordered with the intention of using it as dealer inventory, but I would still take the deal at $1000 over X. Left there about 6 pm and somewhere around 8 got a call from a number not listed in my phone, but answered it anyhow. It was the GM calling, him and the owner had talked and they would honor the X-Plan pricing. So the dealer came through and honored the deal we made over a year ago, and they also honored it with completely different management than was there when the deal was originally made. Going to try and pick it up today

Congrats on finally getting a great deal on your truck!

Now, please, send me the phone number for this lady! I also had a personal offer expire!

Glad to read that this all worked out. As for the PCO, do you think there's a chance that you already had that newer offer in the system? It's not uncommon to have one of these offers in your name and be completely unaware because no mail, email or fordpass notifications were sent.

There is that possibility that that PCO was already out there and we have never seen it. Good point. But the way I took the conversation I finally end up talking with someone in the marketing division and they could see the expired offer and either issued a new one or extended the expiration date. She gave me the new code #, said was valid at that point, and said the computer would generate the email by the end of the weekend.

Not to confuse things but did they give you the Last Year X-Plan price or the X-Plan price based on the current invoice?

My December 2021 X-Plan ordered F-350 is about to be delivered this week hopefully The sales rep last week quoted Sticker price of $87,485 and X-Plan price of $82,923.
I said UH NO? It is price protected with original MSRP of $82,255 and X-Plan price of $77.804, and I pulled up the original DORA with December 2021 prices on my iphone that he sent me last year.

He looked up the original order date and said Yes you're right. Your order was price protected so your price will be $77,804 instead of $82,923

I haven't mentioned the $2,000 ECO/PCO that I received that expires on 1/3/23. I'll pull that ECO out when I pick the truck up. It shouldn't be an issue since its Ford money and it doesn't cost the dealer anything.

The ECO was sent to me via Ford Pass App.

Truck was purchased off the X plan price for the invoice that came with that vin. There was about $4000 difference in what we had originally built the truck at and what the VIN invoice showed. I didn't have anything price locked from the original build and it was written in the order form that the price was appropriate and could change by delivery.

All that said, I think that I have found a dealership that is trying to do the right thing. There has been a complete management change since I ordered the truck a year ago. There was also a reason for that management change. The GM stepped up and done what was offered a year ago. They have gained a customer
