Hey fellas,
My 85 lariat seems to have only the slow speed setting on the wipers...the intermittent seting do work, but when I switch to full speed...there is no diff from the VERY sLOW low setting...di you think that would be a motor issue? or could it be the switch itself? and is there any way to test both to see what's going on?
I had intermittent problems with the low and the high speed wiper settings. The intermittent wiper section was also "intermittent". I changed the wiper switch and no improvement. Replaced the intermittent module and all works properly again. You can buy newly manufactured intermittent modules made by Dennis Carpenter. Available through bronco graveyard.

Someone think posted something about this over on Gary's site.
The solder joints get loose and why it works all funny like.
He was able to resolder them and it worked as it should.

I believe you guys, but in high the delay box is bypassed. Unless there is a critical ground in the delay box that the motor uses on high.

There must be a ground through the module that is used on all speeds. But high speed was my go to speed when raining and wipers were needed as it usually worked. Then sometimes it would stop on high. That could be reset by going to off then back to high...most of the time. And often I could go from high to low and low would work.
The original intermittent module has a cushion sleeve around it and a warning label that says do not drop. That tells me that the OEM units were not very robust. I got the new redesigned one from Dennis Carpenter and everything is roses again.
As said switch & box as they are a pair and you have delayed wipers as that is what I did on my truck works great.
The non-delay switch dose not fit the delay box harness so will not work, you need both to be delay.

Take the black cover off the windshield wiper”transmission”.
You may find a bunch of old sticky grease in it.
If you simply flex the contacts on the cap to improve connection it should work.

I replaced 2 dash switches before realizing this
