I apologize if this is a done topic. I've searched, and have not been able to locate anything. Perhaps I'm not using the correct search term...
2008 F-350 SD Crew Cab -
Behind the cab and right where the bed starts, there are square tubes that hang perpendicular at a diagonal to the frame (looking up from underneath). These are on both the driver and passenger side, and they extend almost to the outside of the box.
I noticed them when installing my step tubes last weekend.
I can only assume that these are hanger rails for bed steps, but I've not been able to locate any information, nor accessories for these rails.
Do any of you fine forum veterans have information or ideas as to what they are, and what, if any, accessories may be available?

Thank you in advance. I appreciate your time!
can you post a picture. I had an 08 and dont recall seeing this.
If there's a hole in the end of the tubes for a pin like a receiver hitch, I would guess that they are the frame-side of a camper tie-down system like Torklift.

I think this is going to be your answer - someone once used this truck to haul a truck camper. But if you can post up a picture we can tell you for sure.
