'87 vs '84 Radiator Core Support

I have an '84 F150 with an inline 6 and I'm looking to replace my rad core support and rad with a new aluminum radiator. The only new replacement rad core support I can find that are in stock are for an '87-91. Is there that much of a difference between the an '87 and my '84?

Yes, the headlight mounting and various other pieces are different. The fenders may mount different also. Can you modify the 87 with pieces off your 84 and make it work? Probably. The rust is usually on the lower extremities. You have to be careful about engine application also. The diesels are different than the gas radiator supports.

Also the 80 - 86 gas have AC (large opening) and non - AC (small opening) radiator supports.
I think you can open the smaller one up if that is all you can get or just use the large opening & radiator as it will not hurt.
