Has anyone replaced their stock fan and shroud with Flex-A-Lite twin electric fan & shroud kit?
Opinions, pros, cons, an upgrade that's worth the bucks?
Just generally speaking, electric fans are really cool in that they eliminate the drag on your engine from the mechanical fan. More power, better performance, better gas mileage.
The only complaints I've heard are that the new fans apparently don't cool quite as well as the mechanical fan did.
I am doing some homework, and am finding it hard to beleive that a fan capible of 3300-5500 CFM does not cool better than the stocker. can anyone guesstimate the CFM of the factory mechanical unit?
Jran, don't worry, it'll cool just fine. This mod would be on my short list if I wanted to keep pumping more $$$ into my X, but I've discovered I have some self-control lately.
I have decided that I will save my Self Control for other parts of my life, no reason to waste control on something like the Expy!
I am trying to spend my X-mas bonus before I get it.

LOL! That's just what I was thinking. Hmmmm......what tires would look good on the Expy......
Iam considering new 33"-35" BFG Mud TA tires, but then.... with new tires come new wheels, and with wheels come lifts, and lights, and with the lot, there comes a big bill. Ah, life is good! that is...until the wife finds the bill and cannot comprehend the rationale behind creating such a hole in the bank account.
