The only pro I see in the opening post is that the truck is paid for, everything else is a con. It doesn't sound like there is anything you really like about driving the truck. Based on that it would seem an easy decision. Sell it for more than you will likely ever be able to get in the future and do as you please with the proceeds. If for some reason you do decide to keep it I would change the oil at least annually and change those 6 year old fuel filters now.
Sell it. It's an expensive asset that is now depreciating in value quickly. A diesel that sits is just asking for early problems.
If you really need a truck, trade it for a F150/Ram/Tacoma/something where you can actually use the bed (you mentioned it was too tall), and a gas engine that doesn't mind sitting unused.
As others have suggested, the market may be moving in the other direction after being crazy in favor of sellers. Time really could be money now.
If you sell you could move to a smaller truck or if you have the space, an SUV with a trailer if you have the occasional hauling need for materials too long, big or bulky for your replacement vehicle or wife's Grand Cherokee.
Before you cross any point of no return, have a conversation with your wife and introduce the idea of camping. When I did, I received an unexpected answer....yes. Rentals are available so your commitment is minimal until you know for sure. If it works out you have a new experience to share with your wife/family and have something new to tow. WIN, WIN.
Put it on ebay. “Towed boat 7 times to South Florida since 2017 and sold boat awhile back”.
Put the money into the stock market.
Fuel filters do not have a time limit but the coolant does. The oil change light will come on at one calendar year, if its kept inside I would probably reset it if it only had 1200 miles on it or at maximum drop the oil and not the filter and that requires around 10-10.5 qts.
Wow, thanks for the great replies. It logically, financially and practically makes sense to sell it. This is an expensive work truck that costs a lot to maintain and needs to worked in order to justify it. I think I will put it up for sale, but the main issue then becomes what to get. Cars are STUPID priced now. My neighbor saw a Tundra for $91k....that's just ridiculous.
My wife thinks we should sell it too, but she has a 2014 Jeep GC SRT......another silly vehicle, so she wants to replace hers for a more sensible ride....buying 2 vehicles about the same time is just yucky.....
I wanted to ask people who knew the joy of this truck...and you replied well.
Thanks again.
To clarify, it was the diesel filters (one has a water separator under the truck, the other is at the top of the engine at the back. I just thought 6 years of a filter (with water/possible biological stuff) might just be too long.
If you wait another 6 months, and end up selling it anyways, after only putting a couple miles on it, you'll get less for it. Just my opinion, but I think you'd be better off selling it now vs waiting and end up selling it anyways!

I might be interested/know somebody that is if you want to sell it, what are you asking for it. I like the ruby red and the short bed, that year actually has massaging seats as well. Miles are really good as well and an alternative to not receiving a 22 model and dont want to wait for a 23.
I have a barn full of nice vehicles that I don't use. i have a new travel trailer from 2017 that I have never used. tTey are all there if I want them. Need is rarely a consideration when someone buys a new truck, especially a KR or Platinum over an XL. It's all about wants. It's a nice first world problem to have.
