Hey Guys and Gals, Complete Econoline newbie here looking for some help. I have a '99 E-150 with 103,000 miles that won't start up.
Code reader pulled P0401 (insufficient EGR flow) and P0455 (EVAP Control System leak) codes. After researching as much as I could and then some, I replaced the DPFE Sensor, it's two hoses, EGR Valve, as well as the Vapor Canister Purge Valve. While replacing these parts I pulled the upper intake manifold and cleaned it up, making sure to cover up the lower manifold while doing so. I drained the coolant, but did not relieve fuel pressure.
Put everything back together the way I found it and now this is happening:
Hi tabijan,
. It's a 4.2L V6, and it was starting up and idling just fine before I replaced those parts.
I checked the fuel inertia switch which didn't need to be reset, and I pulled two spark plugs, the driver side plug was dry and the passenger side plug was wet.
Could you have misconnected injector or sensor wires? If electronic, is the throttle actuator hooked up? I don’t know if it’s safe to do so but can you tip the throttle plate to make sure air’s getting to the cylinders?
