Got a '22, and was wondering has anyone actually had their Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Forward Collision Warning break the truck for you? I have had the warning come on the dash and flash red, but it has never slowed the truck down any.
I know it has to be very close, but HOW close? Work, not work?

First go into your dash screen and make sure the braking feature is enabled. It can be set to warn but not brake.
I do not want mine to EVER brake on its own so I have had that off since new. I have had the warning several times, a few false alarms and a few where I already knew I was coming up fast.
No idea how close it has to be, not interested in knowing personally. Good Luck
Reviving this old thread. I have the same issue with my 22, I get alerts but no braking. I confirmed it is the highest sensitivity and the active braking is checked.
when it alerts it is supposed to charge the brakes, so if you touch them it will apply full braking, mine does not do that.
then if you don’t brake it is supposed to apply them automatically, pretty sure it doesn’t do that, I’ve got pretty close in testing.
anyone have any experience with theirs working or not, or how close? The dealer says it’s working, but based on there aren’t any codes.
truthfully, I haven’t really needed it in 3 years, but you never know what you truly need until you need it, maybe it will help one day.
I have often wondered this as well. The only way I can think of testing it is setting up a mock wall of empty boxes and see what it does.
My understanding is the same as yours; it “pre-charges the brakes for faster engagement when you hit the pedal.
Bob
so I assume your has not activated the brakes, or pre-charged the brakes either? Maybe I need to get closer.
I’ve thought about the fake car made of cardboard, but my understanding is it would need to resemble a car, i.e., I don’t think it is supposed to stop for a brick wall. Plus, I’m sure I would end up on YouTube under the title of “idiot neighbor tried…

Correct, didn’t seem to do anything except the big red warning; taking your attention from the road.
if you do a video the opening scene should start with…..”Here, hold my beer….” 😆
Does anyone have any experience with their auto emergency braking actually working? I’ve had mine into the dealership, and they can’t find anything wrong with it.
Here is a video of me showing them, warning goes off, no brake pre charge or applying the brakes. Warning goes off, split second goes by, nothing, then me panic stopping just short of a collision, and everyone looking at me like I was a distracted driver with my tires screeching to a stop…
