As I mentioned in other posts, I acquired this truck in boxes, so it’s hard to find the details to put it back correctly. I am trying to figure out where the manual choke cable would have anchored. I changed to a 4 barrel manifold, using a 4100 style carb. I think to original 2barrel had the choke mechanism on the left side, but I am using a choke conversion set up (auto to manual), which would function and anchor on the right side. I need to figure an alternative anchor point, near as I can tell. Pics or any help would be appreciated.
Ther conversion kit should include a bracket to anchor the outer sheath for the choke cable. Pics might help.
Good point, I’m not sure because I rebuilt the carb and put the conv kit on 15-20 years ago I think. I guess I failed to mention, this has been a long term project. 😂 That could be why I’m having trouble remembering. I’ll have to look around, but I think I can picture what it may have looked like. In the mean time, I rounded up a piece that may work. I’m sure it came from one of the ‘65 slicks I owned. I was parting out, changing engines, etc, etc, but that was likely 35-40 years ago.
I think it may have been for an accelerator cable, but I might be able to get it to work. Not ideal, but it might have to do unless I can find the other bracket that came with the conversion kit. Of course there’s always the option of buying another conversion kit, so I didn’t get the whole thing.
You could always make something like that. It could just be 1/8 flat stock bent at 90 degrees with a hole or two to attach to engine or manifold and a smaller piece like a 1/4-inch tubing clamp attached to the top of it with a nut and bolt! Not trying to oversimplify but just pointing you in a different direction than buying another kit.

Yes, I get it. It seems to me, the kit one was pretty much exactly that. I just didn’t think it was stout enough, but I can reinforce it I’m sure. Thanks guys.
