Check Engine light
I own a 1995 F150 with a 5.0L engine. The check engine light came on and I took it to have it checked. The mechanic told me that it was being caused by the EGR valve and O2 sensor. Both of these items have been replaced and memory erased after. The check engine light still keeps coming on.
The truck runs greate but the check engine light just bugs the hell out of me, if anyone can offer some help it would be appriciated.

Check Engine light
Did your mechanic download the engine malfunction code with a code scanner? If not, that was the first thing he/she should've done. I found an inexpensive way to accomplish a self test and download trouble codes. See my post on this site, just scroll down a few pages. Let me know if you need more clarification.

Check Engine light
I have an 87 Grand-Am. When my check engine light comes on, I have a jumper wire to access my ECM. The check engine light then flashes trouble codes that I look up in my Haynes manual. You need to find out how to access your computer module ( you may need to buy a decoder, but they're only $30.00 in the Damark catalog). Then buy a Haynes manual to be able to read the codes. Once I fix whatever is making my light come on, then I disconnect my battery for 5 seconds to erase the codes stored in my ECM. I hope this helps you.
