Shocks Monroe Reflex
Shocks Monroe Reflex
Has anyone ever used the Monroe Reflex shocks on 4WD F350? I typically use the Bilstein 5100's but Amazon screwed me on an order and can't get them in time. The Monroe's are available locally. I will never buy another Rancho part again in my lifetime or my next two.
Also, if you are ordering from Amazon and their software says "get by date X" prior to pressing the "Place Order" button, then it will change the delivery date after the order is placed. That is ordering "Prime" from their warehouse. Amazon use to be an excellent company until the last few years now it's worst than most other options. I quit ordering from them for almost a year but recently started since I saw their delivery trucks locally. I have realized they are no better than UPS. Found better options on my gardening supplies. I can't find an auto parts company that can ship what you need within the time you require it.

I have installed them on several customer's *cars* for the same reason - cost, availability, what they ultimately want. My personal opinion for this application, I would not even though they advertise them as OE equiv.
I jut threw a set of Bilstein 4600 on mine - very happy and typically my go to for this type of application on customer trucks. The 5100's are nice but hard to justify the upsell unless you want that look or have it lifted.
Agree with you on Rancho
Fox is a nice product too but pricy and even though their quality is good, some of that price is for name only. If you want show that's cool and ok, I am only looking for go as they will be covered in salt and road grime in short order.
KYB is nice product too FWIW - usually my go to for the Honda/Toyota customers
All of this is only my opinion based on my experiences and customer feedback - not bashing any product, just sharing the data - FWIW, I had several Reflexes come back leaking within a year and had to warranty them out - Honda Odyssey and Toyota Siennas, hence why I have switched to KYB for them.

Not really a comparison in performance between the 5100 and the Reflex. I ran a couple sets of the Reflex on my 2012, mostly because the first set failed pretty quickly, but replaced for free. I only ran them because they were cheap and that truck had substantial miles on it. The 5100s on my new truck are worlds better. The Reflex is not something I would likely buy again regardless, they are as bad or worse than the stock shocks.
I switched from OEM to Bilstein 5100's at 10k miles on mine... never used the others, so no help there... But I hear ya about Amazon! They have gotten so bad on their shipping it's pathetic. I try not to use them for much of anything anymore... especially if it's a quality part I want to make sure is not a fake, or if I need an item by a certain time, even with their shipping guarantee for Prime members. And FWIW, I ordered mine from Shock Surplus and it came very fast. Maybe give them a call and see if they can overnight them... may cost a little more, but at least you will get the shocks you want rather than settling for something else that will just cost you more in the long run.
Bought mine at Shock Surplus as well. Ordered on the weekend and, without requesting anything but standard shipping, had one set Tuesday and other Wednesday. Tip for savings, build account and cart, leave site and in about 30 minutes I got an email saying "hey, you forgot stuff. Use this code to save when you go back to order."

Rancho and Monroe are products of Tenneco. They're different products, but if you have an aversion to the Rancho as a company you really have an aversion to Tenneco, and therefore Monroe too.

I've have them on my '16' F350 DRW seem to be working just fine, also had them on my previous F250 with no issues.
When it comes time for my '21' will put the Monroe Reflex on it, I still have originals on it at 79k miles.

I changed to 5100's on my 2021 at about 20K miles. Wish I'd done it sooner. Bought them from here, they were shipped and on my doorstep the same week I ordered them. Maybe give them a call and see if they can overnight a set to you??
