20615229]probably worried about his/her job given the latest round of layoffs at Ford Blue
what the heck are those silver bits on the grill? Looks like someone took a staple gun to it to keep it from falling off.
where that blackout package version is staged for a publicity shot cracks me up. I can’t think of a single time I see a black truck at one of my job sites, everyone drives a white, red or silver one so people operating heavy machinery can see you even in lowlight or bad weather and when the truck is dirty. Maybe this is one of those MBAs trying to fit in with the “builders”. They even put it on a special elevated concrete pad so it doesn’t get dust on it backing it into photograph position near gravel. Lol.
those aren’t even the rims that come with the black appearance package. The ones that do look like a rotary dial phone:
I went with Agate black and the sport pack because the 20” rims look better and it will probably be a cheaper pack than the black pack. And I like the sport pack grille a lot better.
1. The long fender vents look like Mr Spock's ears.
2. The ugliest "phone dial" wheels are made to mimic the ones on my friends Silverado, and they fall short. His look nice.
3. The front end looks like a Chevy product from 25 years ago. Much prefer the front ends on the 20 -22 Super Duty.
4. The ugly side step is ergonomically inferior to the extended running boards. Too high, and too close to the bed so your knees bend inside out when you try to get something into the bed.
5. I like real gauges 'cause I'm old school
There ARE some interesting new technology gadgets that appeal to me like the 2000 watt AC power inverter and some other things.
I think cars/trucks should have "faces" like a mid 1950 Chevy. Cars back then had eyes and mouths and some of them smiled. My 22 SD smiles but really doesn't have eyes. Right after I bought my 07 F-150 Ford went through an ugly truck phase as they are now. In a few years that passed and Dodge won the ugly truck trophy. GM recently took it from them. I don't like what they have done with the XLT options packages and I don't like being forced into 4x4 (blessed be those who truly need it)
Glad I got what I got when I got it. Best wishes for the Class of 23.
I don't care for the front end or the wheels on the 2023s. I don't really dislike anything else besides the prices ($14k more to get a comparable truck to my 2017 Platinum Ultimate). I thought the 2017-2022 trucks were the best looking ones in some time.

So, can this display been seen in full somewhere? The pic to the left of hand must be the Sport Appearance Package?

this was the initial display for press crew when ford announced the 2023 super duties. Here’s the full tfl video. Those wheel and package displays start around the 12 minute mark.
Glad I got a 22, the bed and bumper steps are a dealbreaker for me. Front end is ok/acceptable with some trims/options and powertrain updates are nice along with LED’s finally available/standard on Supercab Lariat. Hopefully the steps become optional for 24 so I can order one.
Love the 2023 look, plus the added features, which is a massive amount technology makes my 2017 ancient. Tried to find a 2022 about 3 months ago and so glad I didn't find one, the technology on the 2023 makes the 2022 antiquated already.
