Personally even without a bump in power or torque the 7.3 is an awesome engine. Getting ready to turn over 79k miles on my truck and enjoy driving it every time with the 7.3 power.
Obviously it's too early to judge the 6.8 but as a base engine with the hp & tq greater than the 6.2 hopefully it will have a longlife in the SD lineup.
Ive heard that but i dont believe it or make sense. It would be so easy to make a hybrid powerboost with 10k watt generator with more horsepower and torque than the 7.3 in such a short time
There are Hydrogen E-series vans with 5.4l in California driving around. One guy said it is about $1.50ish/gallon equivalent to gas for efficiency.
Ford has been testing F550s in California running on Hydrogen for a couple years. Also, the doofus of a CEO says Super Duties are not going electric anytime soon and Hydrogen is where they think the future of heavy duty is going.
You do not get anything from a K&N filter but a dirty engine with accelerated wear... Certainly not 10 lb/ft of torque... I would be willing to bet that you can not find that 10 lb/ft on a wheel dyno next to the original 7.3 tune.
That HP and torque update is probably 100% on paper and 20-22 likely have the same as the 23...
I would believe this. My 22 tows 3,580lbs above Ford's claimed GCVWR and it does just fine. 14,000 miles towing that weight and it doesn't drive like I'm killing it. It tows it better than my 05 6.0 powerstroke did which was rated to tow the weight and my 7.3 gasser is not...
