Dennis, what's wrong with your truck?

Bob, have you thought about coming alone?

Abe, same problem I had last year. Intermittent not running right. Only thing I haven’t changed is the distributor and ignition switch. Last time I worked on it, the carburetor flooded and I gave up on it.

Sometimes I fly Lisa out to meet me on a trip. Much less time off for her to miss work. And much less stressful Harley ride for me.

I can see my wife, a tight German, forking out money for a plane trip, ain't going to happen.

I'm in, and so far my wife is interested in going too. Sounds like she won't be alone as far as needing to hear other stories about us excessively buying parts, cleaning parts in the tub, and hiding new projects behind the garage without prior knowledge of their purchase.

It will be great to meet Mrs. Bannen. But I think you can tell a first hand account of hiding projects.....

My plan is to still go. We send my daughter off to college on Friday. So after that I can maybe focus on trip planning.
My wife won't travel in my truck. She likes her comfort way too much.

So, with several wives attending, do we need a talking points memo? We don't want to be outing any secrets and causing marital strife.

I learned a long, long time ago not to hide anything and not to be black mailed for something I did. It used to get my older brother and younger sister mad because when were younger I'd do something that I could get in trouble for and either one or the other, sometimes both, would try to blackmail not to tell our parents. I'd rather face the consequences once than have the face the threats numerous times. My wife, I don't hide anything. Early on she'd get mad because I'd buy a beater parts truck when we didn't have the extra money to spend but then after a week or two I would double my money selling parts and keeping parts I needed. Now, after 35 years, she has come to realize I usually double my money. A few times I broke even but I still got parts I needed for my trucks. I've had a lot of truck adventures that she's been on about half, but they all ended up with stories too good to keep to myself.

Ed, I’m leaning more toward that. I should probably go ahead and order one.

Yes . Do it now and you'll be driving that 54 with a 55 grille up to Bald Eagle State Park.

Just checked availability, the only sites left are camping sites with electricity. I know, I know, waited too long but between business and other things I don't know what I'll be doing until almost the last minute. I doubt if my wife will be willing to stay in a tent over a cold weekend. I'll have to present the idea to her and see what she says. I am willing to sleep in the back of my truck but she said it would be too claustrophobic.

Man, the members of this board are the greatest. I don't want to reveal any details here until I get them ironed out but without asking I have had two members contact me with offers to help out with accommodations for the weekend. I've been on this board when the digest first started years ago and I have always been amazed how helpful and friendly everyone here is. I don't know if any other boards here are like this one, I rarely deviate into another board. I do belong to a few other discussion boards for other subjects and not one has the family feel this place has. You guys whose wives aren't too sure about their comfort in coming because there's going to be mostly men and truck talk tell them my wife was very apprehensive going to the first meet at Shane's house but she fit right in with all of the wives that showed up and she had a great time. Tell your wives she'll be with a bunch of like minded women who will be spending rolling their eyes while discussing the strange things we do for our trucks.

The funny thing is my wife wasn't real big on attending this year but when I told her we probably wouldn't be going I could see her disappointment. I glad it looks like things are working out. I'll keep the group informed as time goes on.

Sounds good Bob! We'll be glad to see both of you there.
