I have a 2000 2wd that the frame is cracked in front, thinking about buying another one but it’s 4wd just wanted to make sure trans fits in it. Only difference is t case correct?
The unit attached to a transfer case has a tail on it and the only way to add or remove that tail is full transmission disassembly. Supposedly, the EOD transmission uses the same case and you could swap your parts into it.

You're nearly right.
To change a trans from 4x2 to 4x4 (or vice versa) you need to change the output shaft. The output shaft is the last part to come out of the trans when you disassemble it, and the first part in when putting it back together. That's the only way to change it.
As for the EOD transmission, I've never heard of it. Who made it? It wasn't Ford.
And why would you want to swap cases? There is no difference between a 4x2 and 4x4 case. They are identical.
Assuming you meant the E4OD transmission, then I will tell you that you are wrong The E4OD case will NOT work in a 4R100. That can't be done.

Yeah, E4OD. Thanks for wising me up on it no fit. Several times I believe I read on here that they are the same case.

The difference is that the 4R100 has two speed sensors mounted in the case. The E4OD has none. Without those speed sensors the PCM will not be able to control the 4R100.
