-Prototypemech IDI diagnostic chart-
Cold engine is hard to start and white smoke out the tail pipe= glow plugs dead.
Cold engine is hard to start or starts and stalls out=air intrusion between the low pressure fuel pump and the injectors.
Hot engine is hard to start= injector pump worn out.
Engine stalls while driving=air intrusion problem between the fuel tank and the low pressure fuel pump.
Engine chokes and dies while under-load=fuel restriction.

that is not a glow plug issue, it is air intrusion. you need to change the injector return line caps and o-rings.
what is happening is when the truck is parked engine off, air is getting into the return lines through the old o-rings, and this air lets the fuel in the filter drain back to the fuel tank.
than in the morning you start the engine on a partially empty fuel filter. it will run on the fuel in the injector lines and injector pump, than "run out of fuel" until you re prime it by cranking it over

follow the steel injector lines from the injection pump to the injectors. They sit on top the injectors, under the fuel line b-nut.
