Intercooled 7.3 idi

Hey guys am new to this sight and have read alot on here about everyone’s opinions on intercooling their idi’s i recently picked up a 1988 f350 crewcab long bed 4x4 not running for $900 seems it was having air intrusion and also the fuel tank was filled with water and completely rusted to **** got a new front tank new pick up new selector valve and ran all new fuel lines front to back including bypassing the LP and going electric pump all the fuel lines were hacked and i didnt know where to start with finding the air intrusion and decided to replace everything as well as return lines i plan on hauling a 30ft gooseneck and decided while everything was apart id put an intercooler in it when i got it it had the hypermax turbo kit with a big garret as this truck came N/A i bought a cheap intercooler off amazon (31”x 3” x 12”) and a universal piping kit and made a new intake hat out of aluminum just wanted to share it on here figured maybe someone would want to see im new to the diesel trucks so this is my first one ive worked on had to cut the hood latch support and cut holes through the radiator mount it turned out pretty clean and im happy with it. Was also wondering what your guys egts are usually at now that its running good i drive it everywhere and cruise at about 400

Sounds like you got it pretty well figured.
where is your probe located? Seems low, so I'm guessing downpipe, if that's the case 900* max
if in manifold 1200 max
I cruise at about 6-700 depending on speed
Probe in manifold, intercooled

Thanks. probe is located on the manifold its more like 450 in 5th gear at around 55-60 mph. Going up hill at the same speed in 5th it climbs to around 850 900 i never really drove it without the intercooler so I figured id get an idea of what the guys without one are running at.

Nicely done. Intercooled IDIs are rare. I wish I had one. I run about 600* at 65mph.
